Seen your parents' phones lately?

Their solitaire shouldn't come with a casino attached.

Most "free" game apps are built to sell ads and coins. They interrupt every few minutes, push purchases and use text that's hard to read. They deserve better, and you shouldn't have to worry about what they're tapping on.

The typical "free" game

What they're dealing with now

  • ✕A video ad after nearly every round
  • ✕"Buy 500 coins" pop-ups and timers that pressure them
  • ✕Tiny text and buttons that are easy to mis-tap
  • ✕Sign-ins, notifications and data collection

Funstead Games

What you're giving them

  • ✓No ads, not one, ever
  • ✓Nothing to buy after the first purchase
  • ✓Big readable text, big buttons, undo on everything
  • ✓No tracking, and nothing for them to sign up for. The photos you pick stay on their phone.

How it works

Ready to play in about two minutes.

Set it up on their phone at Thanksgiving or Christmas, or walk them through it on a call. There's nothing to sign up for.

1

Buy it once

Get it from the App Store or Google Play. One price, no subscription. On iPhone you can send it as a gift straight from the App Store.

30 seconds
2

Add their name and a few photos

Pick the grandkids, the lake house, last Christmas. Choose as many as you like.

About a minute
3

Hand them the phone

They'll see "Good morning, Linda" (or Frank, or Grandma) and their own photos on the home screen. Every game is one tap away, and every win says their name.

The fun part

Photo moments

They play with your photos.

Your family shows up all through the games, so a quick round of solitaire turns into a little visit with the grandkids.

Jigsaws made from their pictures

Any photo becomes a puzzle, from 9 big pieces up to a real challenge.

Family on the face cards

Kings, queens and card backs can wear family photos in every card game.

A photo on every win

Each win is celebrated with their name and one of their pictures. Tap to see it full-screen.

Easy to send back to you

One tap shares a favorite photo to the family through their phone's own share button.

The photos you pick are copied into the app on their phone. The app never uploads them, and there are no ads or trackers inside.

The games

30+ games, all included.

The games they already love, done beautifully. Every one has big text, gentle hints and undo wherever it makes sense.

Built for them

Easy on the eyes. Easy on the nerves.

Big, readable text

Uses Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed for low-vision readers, plus a text-size setting.

AaAaAa

Undo on everything

Tapped the wrong card? Undo it. No penalties and no scolding, so there's nothing to be nervous about.

Big buttons

Every button is at least 56 pixels, so it's easy to hit with any finger.

No time pressure

Timers are just for fun. Nothing expires, nothing nags, and there are no streaks to lose.

Light or dark

Follows their phone's setting, with a high-contrast option for tired eyes.

Private by design

No ads, no tracking and no internet needed to play. The photos you pick, their name and their stories stay on their phone.

Questions

Good questions, plain answers.

How much does it cost?

$14.99, once. That includes every game and every level. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no ads, and there never will be.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, both. It runs on iPhones with iOS 15 or later and Android phones with Android 7.0 or later. It also works without Wi-Fi or a data connection.

Can I give it as a gift?

On iPhone, yes: open it in the App Store, tap the Share button and choose "Gift App". They get an email and tap to download. Google Play doesn't offer gifting for individual apps, so on Android the easiest way is to buy it on their phone when you set it up, or send them a Google Play gift card.

Where do the photos go? Is it private?

The photos you pick stay on their phone. The app keeps its own copy inside the app on that phone and never uploads it. The app has no ads and no tracking, and it doesn't need the internet to play. (On Android, Google's photo tool, which finds faces on the phone, sends Google basic diagnostics, never photos.)

Family Connect, coming in December, is optional: family members who use it send photos from their own phones to Mom's games, through our servers. Our privacy policy explains both, in plain English.

What if they're not good with phones?

That's who we built it for. The home screen greets them by name, and every game is one tap away. Text and buttons are big, nothing pops up to sell them anything, and Undo fixes any mistake. You do the two-minute setup and they just play.

Can the whole family use one purchase?

Yes. It works with Apple Family Sharing and Google Play Family Library, so one purchase can be shared with up to six people in your family group. Each phone gets its own player name and its own photos.

How do new family photos get to them?

On iPhone, the easiest way is a shared album: make one in Photos (say, "For Dad"), invite the family, and pick it once in the app. Anything anyone adds shows up in the games by itself. On any phone, you can also pick photos already on it, any time, in Settings.

Coming in December: Family Connect. Everyone in the family will be able to send photos with a caption to Mom's games from their own phone, on iPhone and Android. It's included, with nothing to buy.

What if they get a new phone?

Download it again for free with the same Apple or Google account. The photos you picked live on the old phone, so you'd pick them again on the new one, which takes about a minute.

Give them something good to play this Christmas.

Classic games, their family's photos and nothing trying to sell them anything. Buy once and set it up in two minutes.
